Interesting, so far. I like the idea of Fudge shooting himself so thoroughly in the foot, though I do think he'd know enough to contruct really foolproof charges. Destruction of national heirlooms, manslaughter and whatever covers 'raising and leading a private army' are all pretty accurate descriptions. Why does Fudge hate Harry so much though? Being a complete opportunist, he should be running up to Harry like his best friend. Still, can't wait for more of this [or any of your WIPs, in fact]. KUTGW!

Excellent start, I can't wait to read the next chapter. Of course I'm also wondering what bit of erostatic law or magic hermoine found to help him out of this one.

Mr.Intel replied:

You got that one right.   Harry's only as good as his friends and Hermione is the witch to beat in this story.   Fudge doesn't know what's coming to bite him in the butt.

:D

Good start, Michael. The hardest part to believe, right now, is that Fudge is getting away with his witch-hunt of Harry. I hope that will be explained a bit more later?

For instance... with the death of all those DE's, likely a lot of families had a rather unpleasant surprise when they found out that one of their loved ones was both Dead, and a DE. Much easier to believe that they were tricked, and Harry is therefore responsible.

Kingsley is a little bit surprising also, but then we really don't know that much about him.

best,
...art

Mr.Intel replied:

Very good observations, Art.   Fudge isn't getting away with his witch hunt.   Right now, I'm writing the bit where Hermione and co. try to see him and present their defence.   We get a better picture of the outrage that's befallen his second administration.   As to the 'tricked' death eater spouses, I'm taking the narrow view and supposing that Voldemort's followers are few and confined to 'evil' families.   Still, that would make an interesting plot twist.   :)

Kingsley knows Harry is innocent, but he's a career man.   Appointed to chief auror young in his career, he's a tad bit full of himself and like Percy, has a blinded sense of morality because of his ambition.   Kingsley isn't gone for good.

Not a bad start. Wondering about Bill's response tho'.

Mr.Intel replied:

Bill's being the typically overprotective older brother.   He doesn't like Ginny galavanting off with Harry so recently after the war is over and while Harry is still a fugitive.   He's also placing himself in the role to protect his parents from their 'rash' decisions as well.   Bill makes another appearance.

I hesitate to say it after your note about the number of re-writes of the first part of the chapter, but to me it doesn't really flow. It feels a bit clunky. Once you get into the dialogue though, it starts to flow a lot better.

The remainder of the story is good, but it feels as though it's a summarised version of a much longer story. There's very little pause for thought between Harry's actions, or much in the way of reflection on his decisions.

I still liked it though. Harry's knowing-ness that he couldn't be restrained in Azkaban and of how to disable the "Failsafe shield" were nice touches, and it was good to see that Harry and Ginny couldn't outsmart Arthur and Molly and get married in secret.

Fudge's complete incompetence and continued persecution of Harry were also very well done (if brief).

Mr.Intel replied:

I appreciate your candor.   Feedback from readers is valuable, when given in the correct light.   This was one such review.

This is a very summarized story.   As I alluded, I have many irons in the fire and thought it'd be fun to delve deeper into this plot, I would get lost in the undertow really fast.   The only way to keep it light and fun for me is to stay on the surface for most of the story.   It gets into deeper, thought still relatively shallow waters in the last part.

Thank you for reviewing.

Heh, that sounds so like the British Ministry we've come to know and loathe. I like the way the story is developing, though, and will be looking forward to the next part.

HAHAHA...that was brilliant. You could turn this into a serial story with Harry and Ginny hopping all over the eluding Fudges aurors. well done.

what an excellent amuse-gueule, to whet our appetites to some well deserved Ministry bashing and Harry-Ginny fluff.

Thanks
